VALLEY OF THE WIDOWS

A small village in the isolated Transylvanian valley has been sinking into toxic sludge for decades. As a result of ongoing copper mining, thousands of tonnes of waste flow into the valley every day. Near the tailings pond only old widows live, amongst which one middle-aged woman, Valerica. She ran away from her family and moved into an abandoned house inherited from her father. She has drawn a line behind her past life and now she tries to live anew. In the scenery of a ruined landscape, Valerica finds her own place on Earth.
